How to use

From catalogue to your world

Four steps, about thirty seconds. You need Minecraft Java Edition 1.8 or newer and permission to run commands.

  1. 01

    Find a head

Search by name, or filter by category. Search matches names and tags, so "green" and "creeper" both get you there.

Tip Sort by Most copied to see what other builders are actually using.

  2. 02

    Copy the command

Hit Copy on any head in the grid, or open its page for more command variants. What lands on your clipboard looks like this:

    /give @p minecraft:player_head{SkullOwner:{Id:[I;…],Properties:{textures:[{Value:"…"}]}}}
  3. 03

    Paste it in Minecraft

Open the chat with T, paste with Ctrl+V, and press Enter. The head goes straight into your inventory.

  4. 04

    Place it

It behaves like any other block. Put it on a wall, on a fence post, on top of another block. Heads are one of the few decorative items you can place on all six faces.

What you need

  • Minecraft Java Edition 1.8 or newer. Custom heads do not exist in Bedrock
  • Cheats enabled in singleplayer, or operator permission on a server
  • Nothing else: no mods, no resource packs, no plugins

Questions

Do these work in Bedrock Edition?

No. Custom player head textures are a Java Edition feature. Bedrock has player heads, but it cannot apply a custom texture to them, so none of these commands will work there.

Can I use them on my server?

Yes, as long as you have operator permission and commands are enabled. They work in vanilla, Spigot, Paper and Fabric alike, since a custom head is ordinary vanilla NBT rather than a mod feature.

Are they free, including on a monetised server?

Yes. Every head here is free to use anywhere, commercial servers included. No credit required.

How do I enable cheats in an existing world?

Pause the game, choose Open to LAN, set Allow Cheats to On and start the LAN world. This lasts for the session only; it resets when you reload the world.

The command is too long and gets cut off.

Chat accepts 256 characters, but the clipboard paste is not limited the same way. If a command is genuinely too long, put it in a command block instead. Those accept far longer input.
